SPORTING success was on track for Davenant Foundation School pupils at the UK School Games.
Edward Bird, 15, and Stephanie Hahn, 17, who were selected to represent the East of England at the Cardiff-based games, both won medals at the prestigious event.
Stephanie brought home a silver in judo while Edward swooped up a silver and a bronze at his track cycling events.
Both pupils are part of the Loughton school's STARS programme which offers them extra training and coaching time.
The UK School Games encompasses ten sports over a four day period which aims to replicate the feel of major events such as the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. Over 1,500 people took part this year.
Davenant director of specialism Jo Daniels said: “We hope that both Steph and Ed take lots of encouragement from their success and involvement; we are all very proud of their achievements.
“They train extremely hard and with thanks to support from their families, coaching teams and the school we hope to see them go even further in the future.”
