TWO men have been charged over a road crash that claimed the life of a passenger.

Claire Glaskin, 50, from Ware, Hertfordshire, was certified dead at the scene when the Ford Mondeo she was a passenger in was struck by several cars on the M11, near Loughton on March 27 this year.

A 39-year-old man from the Dunmow area was arrested and has now been charged with one count of causing death by careless driving, one of causing death while uninsured and one count of causing death while having no licence.

A 20-year-old man from the Clacton area has been charged with one count of causing death by careless driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Both men have been released on bail to appear at Harlow Magistrates Court on September 30.

Another suspect, a 23-year-old man of no fixed address, who was charged with one count of careless driving, one count of driving without insurance and one count of driving without a licence has already been disqualified from driving for six months and ordered to pay £450 in fines and costs.

A 59-year-old man from Hertfordshire is on bail until Friday, September 25 after his arrest on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
