Pupils at Roding Valley School decked themselves out in Yellow to enjoy a sunshine-themed day while raising money for Haven House Children's Hospice.
They donated cash and wore one item of yellow clothing, doughnuts and cakes were made and sold, wristbands were sold and a wall of support was started where students and staff could buy and sign a brick to build a wall.
The special event was kicked off my a visit from Natalie Perry from Haven House, who attended assembly and spoke to pupils about the work the hospice does.
She returned to the school in Alderton Hill to pick up a cheque for £1,112.89 She said, “The children who raised this huge amount are special and this was raised for special children. "A big thank you to the students and staff of Roding Valley from Haven House, especially the Learning Support Unit who have been fundamental in supporting us.”
