MORE than 300 cannabis plants have been seized by police during a raid on a house in Ilford.

The haul, which was discovered at a property in Hertford Road yesterday morning has an estimated street value of £42,000.

Officers also seized lights and other equipment for growing plants during the raid - which was carried out after a tip off was received by officers from Newbury Park ward Safer Neighbourhoods Team.

A police spokeswoman said: "The floor space of all three bedrooms were covered with cannabis plants.

"Unfortunately their were no suspect's on the premises.

"The premises has been made safe by EDF and cleared out by property services. The property has since been boarded up and reassurance letters will be delivered to residents who live in the vicinity of the address.
