YOUNG people in Waltham Forest are to be given the opportunity to help shape local policing.
In an online survey to take place across the capital from today (Monday), 11- to 18-year-olds who live or go to school in London will be asked for their thoughts on the police.
They will be able to log on and comment on topics including where they feel unsafe in their local area, crime and anti-social behaviour issues.
The information will then influence decisions on policing priorities dealt with by Safer Neighbourhoods Teams (SNTs).
Radio stations Choice FM and XFM will help to promote the survey and Safer Schools Partnership officers will work with secondary schools to include it in lessons.
SNTs will also host youth events aimed at involving young people in their community.
Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Online Youth Survey is at met.police.uk/youngpeople and will run until October 31.
