A WOMAN who fell from the roof a building in Leytonstone remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Police were called at about 11.50am on September 18 (Friday) to reports of an altercation at a house in Fairlop Road, Leytonstone.
At about 12pm, the woman fell from the roof, leaving her with serious injuries, and was taken to the Royal London Hospital.
She was initially thought to have fallen from a first-floor window but police have now confirmed she fell from the top of the building.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the fall and it is not yet known whether foul play was involved.
A spokeswoman for the police said: “No specific offence is being investigated but we are looking into how she came to fall off the roof.
“It's not clear whether it was suspicious or not.”
The house is owned by Newham Council and is used as a bed-and-breakfast for homeless people.
A spokesman said there had been no other reports about domestic disturbances at the house.
He added: “The council is not aware of any complaints which have been made regarding the property.”
