A GARDEN party in aid of Asthma UK raised more than £500.
The rectory garden at St John’s Church, in Buckhurst Hill High Road was the scene when parish council chairman Joyce Darby hosted the party offering tea, biscuits and homemade cakes to guests.
A raffle held on the day joined with donations to give a total of over £500 which will help the charity in the fight against asthma.
A spokesman for the parish council said: “Councillor Joyce Darby would like to thank all the guests who attended the event and those who gave so generously of their money, time and home baking skills. It is hoped that events such as this will help Asthma UK to continue with its ground breaking research and life saving services.”
