IS it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s a giant ski slope in the heart of London.
Now in its second year, the two-day Swiss Extravaganza sees a little bit of Switzerland transported to Liverpool Street, with the creation of a 20 metre-long ski slope adjacent to Liverpool Street Station.
Enjoy free and unlimited snow tubbing, watch professional ski and snowboarding stunts and sample wine and cheese tastings accompanied by a Swiss band throughout the day.
Swiss dairy brand Emmi will also be taking up residence in a hamlet of mountain chalets and offering a true flavour of aprés ski dining traditions.
Julie Plant, MD of Emmi UK, says: “It’s been a tough year in the city and we hope that we can help get the capital’s workers and residents into the mood for some fun in the snow as the winter months arrive.”
Swiss Extravaganza runs at Broadgate Circle on Wednesday, September 30, noon-8pm, and Thursday, October 1, noon-9pm.
