Sticking to tried and tested theatrical tools, Alan Ayckbourn’s play within a play, Chorus of Disapproval, arrives at the Forest Community Centre, Walthamstow on Friday.
Presented by the Drama Workshop of Waltham Forest and featuring live music, colourful costumes and energetic dance routines, the classic show follows the fortunes of Guy Jones and his rise to fame during Pendon Amateur Light Operatic Society’s production of The Beggar’s Opera.
Director Peter Chandler tells me: “Everyone has worked so hard, with singing and choreography to go along with the great, and challenging dialogue that Ayckbourn has written. Added to an innovative and evocative set, this production will be something to behold!”
Chorus of Disapproval runs from Friday, September 25 until Sunday, September 27, 7.30pm. Details: 07961 887 013 or www.wegottickets.com/f/1082 (£7/£4 concs.)
