A HISTORICAL talk is being given about Valentines Mansion in Ilford.
Organised by Walthamstow Historical Society, local historian Georgina Green will tell the story of the house and the lives of some of those who lived there.
Built in 1696, for more than 200 years it was home to a succession of wealthy owners who added their personal touches to the house and its grounds. In the twentieth century the building became council offices.
It became dilapidated and was placed on English Heritage's buildings at risk register but it has now been restored to its former glory.
The talk is on Thursday, October 8, at 7.30pm, in the main hall at Greenleaf Road Baptist Church, Greenleaf Road, Walthamstow. Visitors are welcome.
No booking required. For further information call 07792 750017.
