A REALITY TV star dazzled 500 youngsters with his ball juggling skills during a special performance at a primary school sports day.

Jeremy Lynch, who made it to the semi-final of Britain's Got Talent last year, mesmerised a crowd of youngsters with his gravity-defying kick-ups at the annual Caterham Schools Partnership event at Redbridge Sports Centre, yesterday (Wednesday).

The 21 year-old 'freestyler' missed out on the final of the popular show after famously dropping the ball in his final performance, but was far more careful this time around - keeping his young audience enthralled with every well rehearsed trick.

The display was the highlight of a day of sporting achievement by children from 25 primary schools across the borough - who competed in a wide range of activities including netball, tag rugby and athletics.

The Partnership - which includes Caterham High, in Clayhall, and eight other Redbridge secondary schools - was created to provide better access to sporting facilities for youngsters aged 11 and under.

More than 100 secondary pupils volunteered to help run yesterday's event in Ilford.

Sue Maran, of the Partnership, said: "Caterham is the hub. Altogether, there are 40 primary schools in the Caterham partnership.

"The secondary schools go in and help the primary schools with sports – they have meetings and tournaments for all different year groups.

"It's about providing better quality PE for the schools.

"Caterham has worked to build up the Sports Partnership since being designated as a sports college in 2003."

Caterham's sports facilities are also available for use by the local community.
