A CELEBRATION is being held to mark the 60 year anniversary of the Ridgeway Park Railway.
The miniature railway, in Ridgeway Park, in Chingford, takes thousands of children and adults on rides around the track each year.
On Sunday, October 4, from 1pm to 5pm, the Chingford District and Model Club which owns and runs the locomotives, will be holding an event to mark the railway's birthday and to raise money for charity.
Visitors will be offered a special combined ride on both railways for £2, with all proceeds going to the local charity Haven House Children's Hospice and to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
The day will also be the last chance for people to ride the railway before it closes for winter.
