A MAN was shot in the leg outside a Leyton pub.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses after the incident, which took place outside the Lord Clyde, in Capworth Street at about 10.45pm on September 12.
The victim, 40, suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg and was treated at an east London hospital but has since been discharged.
The suspect, described as a light-skinned black man, approached the man on foot from Clyde Place.
No arrests have been made and anyone with information is urged to contact the incident room on 8217 7377, or to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The incident is being investigated by Trident and is the fifth involving firearms in the Leyton and Leytonstone area within the last six weeks.
Six men were arrested and bailed last month in connection with a gang shoot-out on the notorious Cathall estate in Leytonstone on August 10.
No further arrests have been made.
A paramedic was also shot with an air gun as she tended to a patient in King's Close, Leyton on August 23 and police are continuing to investigate.
On August 28, 27-year-old Abubakar Issak, of Capworth Street was stopped and searched and later charged with possession of a firearm.
An 18-year-old man was shot in the groin in Capworth Street on September 2 and the Guardian is awaiting an update on the investigation.
