A MAN was left with an eight inch cut to the face after being attacked in a Nazeing street.

The 34-year-old was walking along Palmers Grove on Tuesday evening (September 22) when he was approached and hit with an "unknown" weapon.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the assault, which happened at around 6.30pm.

Officers describe their main suspect as a white man aged between 25 and 30, who was wearing a green jumper with a white strip around the neck, along with blue jeans and trainers.

He is also described as "top heavy".
