IT WAS a case of 'Curry on Camping' in High Beach this week as the BBC Asian Network's breakfast show pitched its tent for a special outside broadcast.
Adil Ray took his popular show to spend the night at The Elms Holiday Park in Lippitts Hill on Thursday night before transmitting live from the site from 7am to 11am on Friday morning.
After arriving, the host kept his fans up to date with a blog on the stations website, before settling down to a home-made chicken curry and naan bread around the camp fire.
On Friday morning the show featured Holby City star Hari Dhillon, celebrity chef Ravinder Bhogal and Sree from this year's Big Brother, who all joined the team for some outdoor fun.
The presenter came up with the idea after wondering why South Asian families rarely take camping trips, before deciding to challenge the notion by pitching his tent and spending a night under the stars.
There was also Adil's regular Golden Oldies segment, but this was given a special twist as live guests including UK Asian star Mumzy Stranger, Bhangra legend Channi Singh and daughter Mona Singh, and guitarist Navin Kundra, who performed songs for a 'Guess the year' competition.
