PREMIERSHIP footballer Pascal Chimbonda has been banned from driving for six months for two speeding offences.
The Blackburn Rovers full-back, who lives in Loughton, had denied speeding after being clocked at 91mph on the A19 near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, in January, but was found guilty at an earlier trial in August.
The former Tottenham player, who signed for Rovers in August, had previously admitted an earlier speeding charge on the A1 near Newark, Nottinghamshire, last October.
Sentencing for both convictions took place in Northallerton Magistrates'
Court with Chimbonda, 30, also ordered to pay £2,185 in fines and costs for the two offences.
The court was told that under the totting up procedure Chimbonda had more than 12 points on his licence and was over the limit for a ban.
Magistrate Sheila Jefferson said: "He was warned he was likely to be disqualified."
