THE MURDER of a man in Abridge a year ago will be highlighted in a televised police appeal tonight (September 29).

Detectives from Essex Police will appear on the BBC's Crimewatch programme in the hope of solving the murder of Clive Enkel, who was attacked at his home in Alderwood Drive on September 25 last year while trying to protect his elderly father.

Mr Enkel, 53, was found by police with serious head injuries and died two days later in Queen's Hospital, Romford.

Police were criticised earlier this year after two men were brought in for questioning before being released without charge on three separate occasions.

The show will be broadcast on BBC One tonight at 9pm. Anyone with information should contact the Brentwood Major Investigation Team on 0300 333 4444 ext 75229 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
