NHS West Essex has temporarily suspended vaccinations against cervical cancer following the death of a 14-year-old girl.
Natalie Morton, from Coventry, died after she was given the Cerverix jab at her school.
NHS West Essex- the Primary Care Trust for Epping Forest - has said it will suspend its vaccination programme for the next three days while it writes with further information to the parents of young girls due to be immunised.
The PCT has said it does not hold stocks of the same batch of vaccine that is now the subject of an investigation into Natalie's death, and that the vaccination programme will resume on Friday.
NHS West Essex director of public health Alison Cowie said: "Cervarix has a strong safety record. It has passed the rigorous safety testing needed for it to be used in the UK and other European countries.
“We are writing to those parents of young girls that were due to get the vaccine this week in order to reassure them of this."
