AN EXOTIC selection of food, music and dance will be on offer to residents across the borough during black history month.
The council has announced plans for a number of activities to celebrate the annual event, which it hopes will 'educate and entertain' those who attend.
Events on offer will include African wood carving, food tasting, Mendhi hand painting demonstrations, themed storytelling and a theatre work shop.
'Caribbean Friday' will be held at Ilford Social Club on October 30, where residents will get the chance to listen to West Indian music and try their hand at popular games like dominoes and cards.
A number of 'interactive' activities will be hosted by Redbridge Museum, including face painting and mask making.
More energetic residents can take part in a range of themed events at Fitness First in Ilford - including Reggae and 'Soca' aerobics.
