Wadham 6
Buckhurst Hill 2
U14's Echo League
by R Hudson
Jamie Goode earned the man of the match of award after a terrific performance between the posts as Wadham put six past Buckhurst Hill.
Wadham started well and took an early lead through Marcelo T-M as he pounced onto a loose ball in the visitors area.
The home side increased their lead when Cameron F-N was upended in the box and Jack C converted from the spot.
Wadham began to relax which allowed Hill to pull one back before half time and then equalised straight after the break.
The game swung from end to end until Cameron F-N rose above everybody at the back post to head Wadham in front. Jack C converted his second and then completed his hat-trick.
His fourth came near the end after a long pump up field from stand-in Keeper Jamie G who was rewarded with a fine display as Man of the Match.

Bradley Goode made it a fine double for the family as he emulated his brother's achievement in goal by shutting out Byron Red Star during this goalless draw.
Games between the two have all ways been close affairs and this one did not disappoint with a very entertaining 0-0 draw.
Wadham started with a new line up with rookie Keeper Bradley G playing in goal. The boys played some nice football with a number of chances falling to Demtri, Steven, Louie and Riley in the first 10 minutes.
Dante went close with a couple of long range efforts as did Kie and Luke nearly nicked a winner just before half time.
Byron created chances of their own but found Reece, Dante and Luke in fine form with Bradley outstanding in goal when called upon.
Wadham played better in the second half creating enough chances to win two games but could not find the back of the net.
As in the first half Byron created some chances but could not find a way past Bradley with him pulling of two great saves to keep the score level.
Man of the match Bradley produced one of the best saves seen for a long time with a diving tip across the goal to stop the ball from going in to the top right hand corner from a Luke headed clearance.
This game had everything but goals and that was thanks to both Goalkeepers.
Two closely-matched teams played the way youth football should be played. Well played both teams.
