CHILDREN and adults raised hundreds of pounds to help orphans in Africa.
An annual sponsored walk was organised by Elena Utton, of Alpha Road, Chingford, founder and trustee of One Life Charity that raises money for the AIDS orphans of Kwazulu, South Africa.
The small charity has raised £100,000 since it was registered five years ago.
The charity arranges sponsors to pay £50 per year to put a child through school.
It also raises funds for food, clothing, medicine, transport, shack repair, and for the installation of electricity as with only a candle as a source of light many accidents occur.
Walkers raised more than £1,000 for the charity but donations are still being collected.
Donations can be sent by cheque made to 'One Life' to 43 Alpha Road, Chingford, London E4 6TD or through the website www.onelife-online.org.uk/donations
