A CHINGFORD woman with a nose for a good deal has set up a website to help others pick up something for nothing.

"Freebie queen" Michelle Leon set up iloveafreebie.co.uk about two months ago after deciding to use her skills to help others.

Miss Leon, 25, of Burnham Road, an admin supervisor at an accountancy firm, said: “I'm known as the freebie queen and I've always got a voucher on me for something.

“I've always forwarded web links to my friends with vouchers but then word started to spread.

“I like a bargain and if you can get something for free, then why not?”

Miss Leon has been hunting out bargains for years, she said, gaining a reputation for it among her friends.

She has managed to sniff out deals on everything from dog food and free meals to cosmetics and travel books and is now sharing them online.

“It's good timing – a lot of people used to avoid vouchers but now even in my office people are using vouchers for meals,” Miss Leon said.

And the best freebie she ever managed to snag, she said, was a free ticket to an event featuring girl group the Sugababes.

Miss Leon said: “As we were walking out, we got a free perfume set as well. I think someone might even have wrapped it up for a Christmas present.”

And as the recession continues to hit hard, she hopes to keep developing the website and help people to rein in their spending without compromising their lifestyle.

She said: “In my eyes, it can definitely develop. It's something I'm looking to take forward.

“I never knew how to create a website before but now I've learned a few bits and pieces and I'm teaching myself what to do.”
