AN ACCIDENT has closed two lanes of the westbound A406.
The crash at 3.30pm today on the north circular invloved several cars and a van between Woodford New Road (Waterwork's Corner) and A112 Chingford Road.
At least one person had to be cut free from a vehicle by firefighters.
The man was taken to the Royal London Hospital by air ambulance.
He is suffering from multiple injuries.
Two other people were also taken to hospital.
A 16-year-old boy suffering from minor injuries was taken to Whipps Cross University Hospital by ambulance as a priority.
Another person was also rushed to Whipps Cross by ambulance also as a priority.
The crash has caused long tailbacks on the A406 and nearby roads, which are expected to last throughout rush hour.
