A SUPER-FIT sixty-year-old will attempt to row 100km for charity tomorrow (Tuesday) to mark his late wife's birthday.

Daniel Dancygier hopes to raise more than £1,500 during the 10-hour-long feat - which will be donated to University College Hospital where his beloved Rosalind was treated for cancer before her death two years ago.

Mr Dancygier, of Somerset Close, South Woodford, was nicknamed 'The Crazy Frenchman' after his previous fundraising attempt three months ago when he ran five marathons in five days.

The father-of-two, who manages his own wine tasting business, plans to give his body a well-earned rest after his latest challenge - which will take place at Virgin Active gym, in Chigwell from 7.30am.

He said: "I'm going to take a break after this one.

"My knee is starting to play up, and my backside is in a bad way after all the rowing training.

"I raised £3,451 from the run, which was great, but I'd like to raise £5,000 in total for the year after completing the row."

Mr Dancygier said he hopes fellow gym users will spur him on in the same way they did during the marathons.

He said: "People at the gym have been a great help and been very supportive.

"Rowing is very boring, so it's nice to have people there chatting to you.

"I'm ready for the challenge, but would love to have people turning up to support me on the day."
