AN accountant practice's quiz evening raised over £1,000 for a charity close to the heart of its staff.
Haslers, in Old Station Road, Loughton, decided to hold its annual staff quiz night in aid of The Meningitis Research Foundation.
The evening's quiz master and Haslers' tax partner Jon O'Shea was struck down with the disease aged just two and has recently begun raising money for research.
A total of 80 people attended the quiz night, at the Loughton Cricket Club Pavilion, in the Uplands, which also saw a raffle and sale of foreign coins to raise funds.
The money raised means Mr O'Shea has now reached £15,000 so far for Meningitis Research after setting himself a target of £25,000.
