THREE Waltham Forest teenagers were presented with prizes at the House of Commons.
The Black Acheivement Awards, organised by Labour MP Diane Abbott, saw black achievers from all over the capital honoured by guests including the Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Olympic gold medallist Christine Ohurugu.
Former Leyton Sixth Form College students Tommy Williams and Shade Ogunseye picked up awards.
Mr Williams, 18, was a mentor to other A level students and gave up his freetime to help younger students revise.
He was also a college ambassador and the only student in his year in the whole of Waltham Forest to land a place on the competitive Univeristy of Oxford economics and management course.
Miss Ogunseye was also an ambassador for the college and is a talented piano player who achieved four A grades at A level.
Lady-Namera Ejaimike, 16, from Walthamstow won an award for outstanding achievement at GCSE.
Miss Ejaimike also represented her year group on the school council, took part in ballet competitions and is a St John's Ambulance cadet.
She achieved 10 Grade A*s at GSCE.
