YOUNG people in the area have been hailed for their enthusiasm for local democracy after an impressive response to a call for Youth Councillors.
Some 37 candidates applied for 25 vacancies in the new Epping Forest Youth Council, who were voted for at five school polling stations last week.
The successful candidates will complete a two-day induction programme on October 28 and 29, which will prepare them for their active role in giving the council feedback from young people in the area.
They will be formally welcomed by the District councillors at the Civic Offices in Epping on October 19.
The results will be announced at the council meeting on October 12 and will be available on the council's website: www.eppingforestdc.gov.uk.
