THREE men have appeared in court charged with plotting to launch suicide bombs on passenger jets.
Adam Khatib, 22, from Walthamstow, Nabeel Hussain, 25, from Chingford, and Mohammed Shamin Uddin, 39, from Stoke Newington, are accused of assisting Abdulla Ahmed Ali, who was convicted last month of conspiracy to murder, a jury has heard.
Mr Khatib denies conspiracy to murder. The other men deny terrorism offences.
The court heard that Ali, of Walthamstow, was convicted in September 2009 of conspiracy to murder alongside Tanvir Hussain, of Leyton and Assad Sarwar, 28, of High Wycombe.
Mr Khatib is accused of plotting with Ali, the two other convicted men and others who are unknown.
Mr Uddin is accused of preparing for terrorism by meeting with Ali four times in 2006 and of researching the use and buying hydrogen peroxide and possessing materials that could be used for terrorism.
Mr Hussain is accused of preparing for terrorist attacks by meeting Ali twice in July 2006.
The trial continues.
