A MAN from Woodford Green will test his body to the limit as he prepares to climb Africa's tallest mountain.
Richard Molloy, 38, of Glastonbury Avenue, will scale the Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in January next year for the cerebral palsy charity Scope.
While admitting he already has sore feet, Richard says he is enjoying his training, which involves gym work and hiking long distances every week, such as the 13 mile journey from his home to his parents in Upminster.
Richard decided to embark on his adventure to raise money for the charity, as a family friend has a child with cerebral palsy.
“A little bit of pain and discomfort is nothing compared to what they have to go through on a day-to-day basis,” he said.
Richard must raise a minimum of £3,250 to go on the expedition. Titanium Gym in South Woodford is donating a sum towards Richard's target and has even given him free membership to help in his training.
