A GROUP of young singers from Woodbridge High School have put on a special concert for elderly residents at a nearby care home.
Four pupils from the school performed a range of traditional classics - including the Lord is My Shepherd - during the visit to Churchfields Nursing Home in South Woodford.
The event, which was part of the Woodford Festival, is one of the three annual performances put on by the school as part of its efforts to build closer links with the local community.
Assistant Headteacher, Jeremy Clifton, said the event was enjoyed by everyone involved.
He said: "Many of the residents are unable to leave the home and we were delighted to have the opportunity to take the show to them.
"The performances by the pupils were very much appreciated by those watching and it was good to sit down and talk afterwards.
"We are looking forward to going back at Christmas to do some carol singing.”
