AN EXHIBITION exploring the recent history of Olympic boroughs is now on display in Walthamstow Library.
The Big Blue Fence interactive installation, set up by Hackney-based Immediate Theatre, is a scale model based on a section of the blue fence which originally surrounded the 2012 Olympic site.
Visitors can open boxes to reveal stories, pictures and memorabilia detaiuling the changes to the five Olympic boroughs, including Waltham Forest, since 1948.
Cllr Geraldine Reardon, council cabinet member of culture, said: “Waltham Forest Council is justifiably proud of our borough’s heritage and always encourages community engagement in art and cultural activities.
“I hope that many of our residents will take the opportunity to see the Big Blue Fence Project at Walthamstow Library and find out more about our borough’s wonderful history and future leading up to, and beyond, the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
The exhibition will be on display at the library, in the town square, until January 17, and there will also be a series of workshops.
For call Immediate Theatre on 7012 1677.
