A TERRIFIED mum has been robbed at knife point on her own driveway as she tried to remove her child from a car.
The 27-year-old had just returned from a shopping trip with her family and was trying to lift the youngster out of the back seat of the vehicle in Green Lane, Ilford, when a man grabbed at her bag from behind.
The robber pulled a knife when she refused to let go, and ran off with the bag towards Charlbury Gardens.
The woman's husband - who had been carrying shopping bags into the house - ran after the man but gave up the chase when he was threatened with the knife himself.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information about the incident - which happened at 6.18pm on Friday, October 9.
The robber - who stole £80 from the bag before throwing it away - is described as being of 'dark European' appearance, aged about 30, 6ft 2ins tall, with short black hair and a beard.
He was wearing a light brown bomber jacket and black jeans at the time of the attack.
