IT WAS all hands to the pump as firefighters raised money with a charity car wash, as part of this year's Woodford Festival.
Members of Red Watch reached for the buckets and sponges to wash dozens of cars during the event on the festival's opening day.
Crew Manager Mark Smith said: “On behalf of myself and the Red Watch crew, we would like to thank everyone who attended the Charity Car Wash at Woodford Fire Station.
”The support from the local residents throughout the whole day was excellent. We are extremely thankful for all the money donated.
“In total we raised £440 which is going the the Firefighters Charity. Without the local support this would not have been achieved.”
Along with the car wash, children and their parents from all over Woodford had the chase to see the inside of a fire engine and even try on some of the uniforms.
