IN his letter ‘Too many homes means too much traffic’ (Guardian, October 8) Tory councillor Ed Northover shows how out of touch he is with hard-working residents unable to afford a house.
He would be better off aiming his angst at slum landlords who, over the years, have bought nice properties only to convert them into as many flats as possible to fatten their bank balance.
I do appreciate that there is a problem with CPZs. I sold me car after getting sick of paying for permits and fines. People like me on modest incomes could do with a real hand rather than an invisible one and certainly not being told that there are too many homes.
I would love to own a home. The Tories might be trying for a makeover but a leopard can’t change it spots.
They remain the ‘nasty party’ looking out for the well off. Ed Northover had the cheek to end his letter by saying that there is only one winner – Waltham Forest Council. That’s a bit rich coming from someone who gets paid by Waltham Forest Council.
