WANSTEAD and Leyton constituency is home to one of the highest proportions of university graduates in the UK according to a new report.

More than 40 per cent of people living in the area - which is represented in Parliament by Labour MP Harry Cohen - hold a degree according to the University and College Union.

The figure is the second highest in east London and puts the constituency in the top ten per cent in the country.

Wanstead and Leyton was ranked in 61st place out of more than 620 in the table - with affluent Richmond, in west London coming out on top and the Hodge Hill area of Birmingham, bottom.
