THE trial of a father accused of killing his own daughter has been halted after he collapsed in the dock.
Mehmet Goren is charged - along with his two brothers Cuma and Ali Goren - of murdering 15-year-old Woodbridge High School pupil Tulay Goren in 1999 and attempting to kill her boyfriend Halil Unal.
The high-profile case at the Old Bailey entered its third week this morning, but there was drama when Mehmet fell to the floor while his wife was giving evidence against him.
It is thought he may have suffered from a fit.
The judge has ordered the trial to resume later this afternoon.
The court has heard how the three members of the Goren family conspired to kill Tulay amid perceived family shame at her forming an "inappropriate" relationship with a man twice her age.
There was also anger from the family that her boyfriend was an Alevi Muslim, unlike the Gorens who are Sunni Muslims.
Mehmet, of Navestock Crescent in Woodford Green, Cuma, of Evesham Avenue in Walthamstow, and Ali, of Brettenham Road in Walthamstow, deny all charges.
The trial continues.
