A FOOTBALL fan accused of assaulting another supporter on a train has pleaded not guilty.
Leyton Orient supporter Paul Bushell, 39, of Hainault, denies hitting a Charlton Athletic football fan as violence erupted on a train travelling between Colchester and Chelmsford.
Bushell was returning home from Norwich after watching Orient suffer a 4-0 defeat but when the train stopped at Colchester, scores of Charlton fans got on, who had seen their side humbled 3-0 in Essex.
He pleaded not guilty to common assault when he appeared before City of London Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 12.
Bushell will stand trial on January 27 at City of London Magistrates' Court.
