CHILDREN learned about games and food from around the world as part of a school's cultural heritage week.
Chase Lane Primary School in York Road, Chingford, held a harvest festival last week and pupils enjoyed lessons on a theme of games around the world.
They received visits from Don Rae Academy of Music and Arts (DRAMA) and from Go Global Games who taught skipping skills which originate from Japan.
The week culminated in a international food afternoon, where parents and carers brought in tasty food from their cultures to share with pupils and staff.
The event was accompanied by music from the London Gospel Community Choir.
Chase Lane teacher, Ruth Hercules, who organised the week said: "It is always fantastic to see the children having such a good time learning about their friends' cultures in such a fun and educational way.
"At our international food afternoon, the atmosphere was brilliant with people from all over the world coming together to share food from their culture and so many delicious cooking smells from all over the world filling the hall.
"It is a wonderful annual celebration that really brings our multicultural school community together."
