THE health service in Waltham Forest has won a top prize for implementing a new computer system to keep track of patients' records.
NHS Waltham Forest was the overall winner at the E-Health Insider Awards for its use of the RiO community and mental health system.
The system replaced applications in adult services, as well as the Child Health Interim Application (CHIA), designed by BT to keep track of vaccination coverage, which produced figures described as "drivel".
RiO was fully implemented across 15 primary care trusts in London on March 30 this year.
The awards scheme is now in its third year and is designed to recognise and reward efforts in UK healthcare information technology.
