PARTS of the M25 between Theydon Bois and Navestock are closed off this lunchtime after a large crash which has left at least one person dead.

Details are still coming through of the smash which happened shortly before 11.30am this morning.

It is thought to have involved three lorries and a car.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area, and have closed the anti-clockwise carriageway.

Officers have been unable to provide further details about the person killed, but said they were pronounced dead at the scene.

One lorry driver has been arrested in connection with the crash.

Traffic is being diverted onto the A12 near Romford.

A police spokesman said forensic collision investigators are currently gathering evidence at the scene.

He added: "Police are working with partner agencies to ensure the carriageway is opened at the earliest opportunity."
