A BASE for a safer neighbourhood team will be opened by Walthamstow MP Neil Gerrard tomorrow.
Officers in Wood Street Safer Neighbourhood team (SNT) will be housed in a single storey building with meeting room and is near a playground.
The base will be officially opened tomorrow (Friday) at a ceremony which will be attended by Mr Gerrard and Chief Superintendent Mark Benbow, Waltham Forest borough commander.
Mr Benbow said: “This new base will provide a better service to the borough and we will be able to respond quickly to situations that arise.”
Mr Gerrard added: “I know what a difference the SNTs have made for local residents.
“Having a base in the area, and police officers who know the area and know local people, means that problems can be picked up and dealt with.”
A former post office in Sewardstone Road, Chingford, was officially opened as a SNT base last Friday.
It will be used by officers for the Chingford Green and Endlebury areas.
Bases in Forest Road, Walthamstow, and Ching Way, Chingford, are also due to be opened.
