A GLOWING Ofsted report meant happy faces all round for a primary school.
St Andrews C of E Voluntary Aided Primary School, in School Green Lane, North Weald, has improved its rating from Satisfactory to Good after its latest inspection which saw praise for both staff and pupils.
Government inspector Rob Crompton writes in his report: “This is a good school. Improvements in the quality of teaching have accelerated pupils’ progress so they are now achieving well.
“Carefully planned work in lessons, complemented by intensive support programmes, help pupils to sustain the momentum in their learning. As a result, the vast majority meet or exceed the challenging targets set for them.”
Headteacher Gill Young said: “We are absolutely thrilled. This is a celebration and acknowledgement of all the hard work by pupils, staff, governors and parents to raise the profile and success of our school.”
Mrs Young put the improvement down to greater use of technology including IT, and the wide-range of activities available at the school including golf, karate, and French.
