CHILDREN at a popular library got into the carnival spirit with a special Caribbean-themed event today (October 26).
Youngsters visiting Loughton Library, on Traps Hill, had the chance to try their hand at playing the steel drums and dressed up in colourful costumes.
Di Dziubek, who works at the library, said: “The kids really liked the steel drums, we had one small one and one little one. They also had a great time making the masks. Give the kids the chance to colour things in and make things and they're quite happy!
“It was all part of Black History Month, which we're celebrating at libraries across Essex. The kids really entered into the spirit of it, it was great.”
Black History Month runs throughout October. For more ifnormation visit www.black-history-month.co.uk
