RESIDENTS could see their neighbourhood look a little bit leafier before too long with the arrival of 100 trees across the borough.
The arboreal additions are being funded by the London mayor Boris Johnson and will be planted by the Forestry Commission in conjunction with charity Groundwork London.
Mayor Johnson said: “Trees are wonderful additions to our communities, helping to make neighbourhoods more pleasant. I am thrilled with the success of this programme in planting these trees in the areas that will benefit most.”
A total of 20 boroughs are set to benefit in the next round of planting, with neighbouring Waltham Forest also set to receive 100 new trees.
Redbridge's trees are among 4,000 which will be planted in the coming months across the capital. They are being funded by savings made through increased efficiency.
