A PAIR of eagle-eyed policemen snared a suspected thief after spotting stolen property at his home during a routine call.
The officers, who are both members of Roding ward Safer Neighbourhoods Team, saw a top-of-the-range mountain bike at the home of a teenager they were visiting on the Orchard Estate in Woodford Green.
After matching it to the description of property taken in a recent burglary, the pair returned to arrest the 17-year-old boy on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
The bike - which had been snatched from a garden shed on September 28 - was eventually handed back to its owner.
The suspected thief was also charged with possession of cannabis, and is currently on bail from Redbridge magistrates court awaiting trial.
