TWO men suspected of burgling a ground floor flat were arrested by police after a lung-busting chase.
Officers were called to Fullwell Avenue, Ilford, after a worried neighbour saw the pair allegedly breaking in to the property just before midday.
The men ran off when they saw police arriving at the scene on Wednesday, October 21, and were finally caught and arrested after an exhausting chase.
Noel Callanan, 48, of Hale End Road, Highams Park, and James Coote, 30, of no fixed address, were both charged with residential burglary.
They appeared at Redbridge Magistrates Court on Thursday, October 22, and were remanded in custody.
A police spokeswoman said: "If it wasn’t for the good spot by the neighbour the victims of the property would have lost their property.
"Although the victims had unfortunately suffered a break in, they can rest assured that the two men are in police custody."
