A YOUNG model from Loughton is to appear in a new reality show produced by the makers of Big Brother - but it will only be shown on the internet.

Chris Charalambous, 23, of Chester Road, is being flown all the way to New Zealand to take part in the Gap Year programme, where he will spend four weeks in November taking part in a series of gruelling challenges alongside four other wannabes.

The show is designed to appeal to the internet generation of youngsters, and will feature mini broadcasts every day on the programme's website detailing the group's adventures exploring the Kiwi landscape and tackling activities such as jet boating.

Mr Charalambous will also update his followers back home with his progress via posts on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Each week one member of the group will be voted off, leaving one final winner.

Mr Charalambous, a self-confessed "poser", said: “I thrive on being the best and giving my all one hundred per cent of the time.

"I’m not afraid of taking a risk or two even if I end up looking stupid.

“I believe this will be the opportunity of a life time.”
