PEOPLE in Redbridge looking to become more environmentally friendly can pick up a few handy tips from a free new book.
The Green Living Guide will be handed out by Redbridge Council this winter in a bid to encourage residents to cut their energy consumption and limit their household waste.
The publication has also been designed to help hard-up families save a few extra pennies by making small changes to their lifestyles.
A council spokeswoman said: "At a time when we are all thinking about our finances and rising energy costs, this guide offers ways to save money as well as helping the environment.
"Throughout the guide there are tips ranging from how to save energy and cut heating costs to handy hints on how to reduce and recycle more.
"You can also find details on ways to get involved and do more in your local area by working with community groups in the borough.
