A LEYTONSTONE reptile rescuer is calling for donations to help pay for a new home for her scaly companions.
Sue Coleman, 60, otherwise known as Snaky Sue, currently houses 45 snakes in her home in Preston Road – and is now running out of space.
Mrs Coleman said: “I'd love to be able to relocate the sanctuary. I've found a venue but I can't afford it.”
She rehomes many of the snakes but some are simply too large to find new families to care for them.
Snaky Sue added that she also needs to keep some of the animals so that she can continue to run educational workshops for children.
She currently uses volunteers to help her but would like to hire full-time staff and needs about £25,000 to get started.
