CHILDREN at a Leytonstone church have taken part in a creative workshop.
Part of the forthcoming Tree of Life exhibition at St Andrew's Church in Colworth Road, they created a 'memory tree' and also took the 'long drinking straw challenge'.
They also made their own musical instruments and tried their hand at weaving.
The Tree of Life exhibition is set to feature the memory tree, as well as work by professional artists and local residents.
It will be held at the church's Cafe Refresh and is to be launched on November 8 to coincide with Remembrance Sunday.
Development worker Helen Gheorghiu Gould said: “We had a huge crowd of children in for our Tree of Life creative workshop.
“Children created a memory tree complete with fairy lights and hung their special memories on it. This will go in Cafe Refresh for the exhibition.”
About 40 children took part and further creative workshops are set to take place in November.
